- Australia (CEPT - Yes / HAREC - No)
- Australia is one of the very few countries worldwide which allows UK Foundation and Intermediate licensees to operate while on a temporary visit of up to three months, with no formal permission required, in a similar manner to how UK Full licensees may operate under CEPT T/R 61-01. Privileges, including frequency allocations and power limits, may be very different from the UK, please confirm before operating.
- Holders of a UK Foundation or Intermediate licence may also apply for an Australian Foundation or Standard licence, respectively, which is valid for a period of one year and cannot be renewed. Continued operation after the expiry of this licence entails passing Australian amateur radio exams, just like an unlicensed person.
- Australia is a signatory of CEPT T/R 61-02 (HAREC), but since 2019 has refused to comply with the terms of the agreement. Holders of a non-Australian HAREC may apply for an Australian Advanced licence, which is valid only for a period of one year and cannot be renewed. Continued operation after the expiry of this licence entails passing Australian amateur radio exams, just like an unlicensed person.
- For further information, please refer to the Australian Communications & Media Authority website.
- New Zealand (CEPT - Yes / HAREC - Yes)
- Persons visiting New Zealand who hold a current amateur certificate of competency, authorisation or licence issued by another administration, may operate an amateur station in New Zealand for a period not exceeding 90 days, provided they comply with the relevant clauses of the GURL for Amateur Radio Operators.
- A valid HAREC Certificate issued by countries participating in the CEPT Recommendations TR61-01 and TR61-02 reciprocal recognition arrangements is recognised for the purposes of operating amateur radio equipment in accordance with the GURL for Amateur Radio Operators. Citation, Section 3.7.1.
- New Zealand has reciprical agreements in place with Australia and Japan.
