Germany has three categories of licence:

• Class A, CEPT HAREC, all bands with up to 750 watts output
• Class E, CEPT Novice, prefix DO, 100 watts on 1.8/3.5/21/28 MHz, 75 watts on 144/430, 5 watts 2.3, 5, 10 GHz
• Class N, CEPT Entry-level, prefix DN9, 10 watts ERP on 28 MHz, 6.1 watts ERP on 144/430 MHz

There is no need to take the lower level exams before doing Class A or Class E.
